As you have probably figured out by now, we are dedicated to eliminating euthanasia of the 20,000 unwanted dogs and cats in the Saint Louis area. Other cities have reduced the euthanasia of adoptable pets through aggressive spay neuter programs and we believe that St. Louis can accomplish this as well. If you are interested in learning more about what Indianapolis and Asheville, NC have done to reduce euthanasia, check out http://humanealliance.org/ and http://www.facespayneuter.org/ to see how they are tackling this problem.
The formation of the clinic is still in the beginning stages, so here is a little background information to understand what this is all about. First of all, the clinic is a non-profit 501(c)3 and while the final location has not been determined at this time, it is anticipated that it will be located in a central area of St. Louis for convenience and ease of access to the community. The clinic will offer low cost spay neuter options as well as serving as an affordable wellness clinic (more detailed info to come on that soon!). But the goal is simple … reduce/eliminate euthanasia of adoptable dogs and cats in the St. Louis and the metro region and a spay neuter clinic is essential in making this goal a reality!
Thanks for checking out the website and blog and stay tuned for “Tank” who will take us on the journey of starting St. Louis’s first spay neuter wellness clinic!
